The Magician path

Independent fan guide · Updated October 22, 2026

Magician
Spellcaster

Begin your spellcasting story in Ellinia. Your second job can follow fire and poison, ice and lightning, or the Cleric path.

How to become a Magician

At level 10, travel to Ellinia and speak to Grendel the Really Old to complete your first job advancement. This is the requirement stated in the Classic World Grand Launch notes.

Read the current advancement dialogue and skill window before spending points or buying equipment. Keep the game version in mind when comparing an older guide.

Magician second-job paths

At level 30, speak to Grendel the Really Old again and choose from the following specializations.

Wizard (Fire/Poison)Wizard (Ice/Lightning)Cleric

Start with the specialization you want to play, then read its skills in the current client. Elemental magic and the Cleric path offer different themes; a single damage ranking cannot tell you which you will enjoy.

Make a plan for your first sessions

After your first advancement, crafting is available at level 10. Citizenship opens at 12, and First Time Together becomes an option at 21. Use the next unlock as a short-term goal while you learn your character.

Measure a normal training session before comparing two spots. Your own EXP gain, travel time, and restocking needs make a more useful planning sample than a tier label.
